The Vera Bradley Company was started in 1982 by two longtime friends, Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller. While on vacation together, they noticed a lack of feminine luggage or carry-on bags at the airport; from that moment of inspiration, the company was born. They decided to produce a line of quilted cotton handbags and travel items that were both fashionable (bright colors and pretty patterns) and practical (fully washable and soft, yet durable fabrics). Since then the company has grown steadily into a strong internationally recognized brand with a loyal following of customers. In addition to handbags and luggage, Vera Bradley has introduced collections of housewares, personal items such as sunglasses, and even a men’s collection with their signature flair applied to cufflinks and silk ties.

Shopping Vera Bradley is a way of giving back. The company is involved with a number of charitable causes, providing donations and products to various local community events as well as national organizations. The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer holds several events throughout the year, including the Vera Bradley Classic Golf and Tennis Tournament, the largest all-women amateur golf and tennis charity event in the country.

Make your dream a reality...

Meadowlark is pleased to offer in-house custom design services. These images were created by Jeff Cohn, our gemologist and jewelry designer, using the Matrix 3D digital design system. The CAD system allows us to generate 3D models of jewelry, and visualize various configurations with alternate colors or materials, to arrive at the perfect design.

heartring

This ring was designed around a client’s 2.87ct heart-shaped diamond. After discussing options and determining an overall aesthetic direction, Jeff built a model that allowed them to experiment with different patterns of color. The final design evolved from 18kt yellow gold with white diamonds to a combination of white and yellow gold, and lines of both white and natural fancy yellow diamonds.

triband

Another client came to us for a simple band design that would complement her white gold solitaire ring. Although she liked the initial concept of a ring with six evenly spaced diamonds, she was concerned that it would look too narrow if she wore it on its own. Jeff was able to quickly illustrate a three-band version in different colors of gold that solved the problem.
